Ever wanted to know what happens behind-the-scenes of an entertainment company? SG Entertainment will have you covered with the release of their own industry webtoon series!
Part of SG Group, SG Entertainment is the first Korean cultural content production company founded by French producers. With a strong focus on creativity, SG Entertainment strives to produce engaging and appealing content to inspire the younger generations to develop a positive attitude towards their future and take their lives in their own hands.
On August 12, SG Entertainment released their first episode of their new webtoon series, “K-Pop Company Insider” via the company’s Patreon. The first issue will also be made available via Naver Webtoons starting August 19. Written by SG Entertainment’s Art Director Quiandez “Gyu” McAfee and designed by independent artist AlexHero, the series will give readers an inside scoop on how the company was founded; the ups and downs of the entertainment industry; and all the blood, sweat, and tears that go into debuting a girl group.
Deemed as an “85% fictional tale,” “K-Pop Company Insider” features some of SG Entertainment’s very own staff members such as SG Entertainment’s co-founders Joon-Hae Spielman and Thomas Sommer. The first episode opens en medias res illustrating the SG Entertainment headquarters under siege. Four months prior to the event, the company discovered a leak of confidential company information to the public. Who was the mole? What information did they steal? How will they recover? The answers will be unveiled as new episodes will be released weekly on SG Entertainment’s Patreon and Naver Webtoons, first in English, followed by Korean, Spanish, and French adaptations to reach a larger audience.
In addition to the webtoons, fans who become patrons on SG Entertainment’s Patreon will gain access to exclusive content such as webtoon OSTs (one of which will feature an SG Entertainment trainee), draft drawings, interviews, and podcasts. The company also plans to release a web series detailing their upcoming girl group, Alpha Ray and to create an interconnected universe of content for fans to enjoy.
