KCON is one of the biggest kpop festivals to be hosted in the U.S. In previous years the stage has been host to some of the biggest American and Korean artists such as G-Dragon, Missy Elliott, Girls Generation, EXO, BTS and so many more.
The first section of the festival will hit LA first from July 31 – August 2 for three days. The venue for LA will be the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
One week later on August 8, will bring KCON to the New York metro area for the first time and will feature Girls’ Generation.
Girls’ Generation is nine-member group, which debuted in 2007 with the self-titled album Girls’ Generation. Their first major hit was 2009 single “Gee”. Since then, Girls’ Generation has transformed their music from a sweet pop sound to a style that includes electro-pop, R&B, and multiple other genres. Their single, “The Boys,” was the first song recorded entirely in English and produced by Michael Jackson’s famed producer, Teddy Riley.
