Asia’s leading entertainment and lifestyle company CJ ENM announced today that global superstar BTS is the first confirmed artist to perform at 2020 Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS (MAMA). The performance will be hotly anticipated as the world waits to see what legendary performance the record-breaking group has planned for 2020 MAMA this year, especially with the launch of their new album ‘BE (Deluxe Edition)’ coming soon. BTS has been shattering record after record, including surging to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and securing their title for three non-consecutive weeks.
2020 MAMA will bring the award show online for the first time since 1999. Each year, MAMA awed fans with its ground-breaking stages and mega-stage performances brought to life by CJ ENM’s high-end production system. As Asia’s biggest music awards, MAMA’s impact has spread far beyond its origins across Asia and other parts of the world. World famous artists and producers including Timbaland, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Dua Lipa and more have also joined to celebrate MAMA, and last year 40,000 fans in more than 200 regions tuned in to celebrate the star-studded event.
As the official voting for 2020 MAMA opened under one week ago, October 29, and the number of votes quickly reached over one hundred million, proving the growing anticipation from fans all around the world for the awards show. The official voting period will continue through Saturday, December 5 at midnight (KST) on the official 2020 MAMA website. The 2020 MAMA will air on Sunday, December 6 (KST).
