Academy LA Launches New K-Pop x EDM Event ‘Electrik Seoul’

In a bold move that unites K-Pop and EDM in the nightlife world, Academy LA is launching its new brand Electrik Seoul with its flagship event this Thursday, May 2. Featuring the biggest K-Pop hits to top EDM DJs, kandi, lightsticks, spiked boba drinks, soju offerings, and even a karaoke room; Electrik Seoul creates a fusion of music that was bound to emerge in Hollywood’s vibrant nightlife scene.

Owned by Insomniac, the iconic Academy LA was recently voted the #1 nightclub on the West Coast and #24 in the world in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll. This collaboration promises to merge the venue’s unparalleled expertise in producing world-class events with the culturally rich experiences of K-Pop fans in the nearby K-Town, Little Tokyo, and more.

“Seeing the surge of popularity of K-Pop in the US, we wanted to do something different and bring the dance music rave experience that we’re known for to this emerging market. Born and raised in Korea myself, I’m excited about this new brand and the possibilities it holds for the Asian communities.”

Already hailing the interest of Korean businesses, the official boba sponsor Sunright Tea Studio is creating specialty teas that will be served at Academy LA with and without alcohol. The event will also be the first time the venue serves Soju bottle service packages as well as at the bar. Official sponsor, Choice Music, a local K-Pop merch store, is even offering giveaways and more!

In the past 6 years, Academy LA has not only been known for hosting world-renowned artists every weekend, but also for launching Day Trip on its patio as a small summer weekly that has now grown into a multi-stage 2-day music festival. In the same fashion, Insomniac Clubs hopes to continue to reshape the landscape of entertainment in Los Angeles and beyond with this new event series.
