Amber is back with her feel-good single, “neon”!
“neon” is an addictive, retro track co-penned by Amber and BTOB’s Peniel and was simultaneously released in both English and Mandarin. While Peniel’s rhythmic rapping is featured on the English track, the Mandarin version features rapper Blow Fever who puts his own R&B flair to his verses.
The music video was co-directed by Amber herself is described as a “spectacularly awesome & weird production.” The video features everything from an awkwardly hilarious opening monologue to a breakfast food fight to the death. All the playful banters and crazy shenanigans in the video were all filmed with Amber’s truest and closest friends. The video perfectly captures the singer’s free-spirited and whimsical nature that did not go unnoticed by fans. One fan commented on the English version’s music video saying, “Amber being herself and doing her own thing is probably the best thing to happen to her, she’s glowing.”
“neon” is Amber’s first release since her second EP, X, early last year. Since then, Amber also launched her own show called ‘I’ll Ask The Stupid Questions’ on the streaming platform, Ficto. The shame-free program features several episodes where Amber asks the stupid questions that you may just be too embarrassed to ask yourself! Amber is currently serving as a mentor on Chinese music survival competition show, CHUANG 2021 (Produce Camp 2021).
