After starting their 5th World Tour ‘READY TO BE‘ in April of 2023, TWICE arrived in Las Vegas on March 16 for the encore show. This stop at Allegiant Stadium marks the final U.S. show date, with the final concerts being held in Japan later this year. With the tour coming to a close, fans, called ONCE, were eager to see what was in store for them.
Fans waited in lines spanning the stadium’s parking lot, impatient for Twice to take the stage. Before they did, VCHA, a rising global group sensation whose journey started on the survival show A2K, welcomed them. Members Lexi, Camila, Kendall, Savanna, and KG (Kaylee was absent for health reasons) opened the show with their brand-new song, “Only One.” The crowd bobbed their heads and shook their lightsticks to the bright and charming song, bringing joy to the fans (called VLights).
Before showcasing their final two songs, VCHA briefly introduced themselves to the crowd and thanked their friends, family, and VLights for their support. As the lights dimmed and the group got into formation for “Y.O.Universe” and “Girls of the Year,” the crowd went wild with cheers and applause, proud of how far the group had come since the ending of the survival show. Even with Kaylee absent from the performance, VCHA’s passion and dedication shone brightly throughout their U.S. debut.
Although the concert’s song setlist was structured just like the rest of their world tour, the stadium erupted in excitement as TWICE finally graced the stage, starting strong with the powerful presentation of the English version of “SET ME FREE.” Performing for the first time in Las Vegas, members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu were not afraid of living up to the expectations of the entertainment capital of the world. They continued to hype the crowd’s energy with their intensely performed songs “I CAN’T STOP ME” and “GO HARD” before moving on to the member’s solo stages. The introduction stage set the tone for a genuinely unique and positive experience, eye-catching visuals, and a commanding stage presence.
As the spotlight shifted to individual members, the stage visuals transformed to match the vibe of each performer as they displayed their distinctive personalities. Dahyun’s piano rendition of Colby Caillat’s “Try” resonated with heartfelt emotion. At the same time, Tzuyu’s mesmerizing dance break and high note while covering Charlie Puth’s “Done For Me” left the audience in awe. Sana’s sultry rendition of “New Rules” made jaws drop, and Momo showcased her superior dancing skills with her fiery interpretation of Beyoncé’s “MOVE,” complete with a pole dancing break. No one will ever forget Mina’s precision and grace in an extended dance break to Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings.”
In the second act, TWICE brought out a live band, elevating the energy for performances of “Feel Special,” “Cry For Me,” “FANCY,” and “The Feels,” which had some of the loudest fan chants and screams before moving on to the final set of solo stages. Chaeyoung’s soulful, unreleased song “My Guitar” and Jihyo’s high-spirited performance of “Killin’ Me Good” showed the diversity of TWICE’s style. Jeongyeon surprised everyone with a cover of “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” where she unleashed an electrifying dance break instead of a recorder solo that left the crowd screaming for more. Following this, Nayeon took the spotlight to round out the solo stages with her title track, “Pop!” Before moving on to the next stage, Jihyo hinted at a possible Jeongyeon solo after telling her she should perform a solo stage with lyrics she had written. It would not be a TWICE concert without some teasers to keep Once wanting more.
Along with the exciting title track medley, including songs “YES or YES,” “What Is Love?,” “CHEER UP,” “LIKEY,” “KNOCK KNOCK,” “SCIENTIST,” and “Heart Shaker,” the group performed two new songs from their thirteenth mini album, With You-th, which was released earlier this year in February. To highlight the fresh and soulful sound of “I GOT YOU,” the heartfelt performance showcased each member’s vocal ability as they stood center stage, basking in Once’s cheers. “ONE SPARK” ignited the crowd as they danced along with the group and cheered like they were taught in a previous ment.
After an intermission filled with Once’s showcasing their dancing skills on screen, TWICE slowed the pace with their ballad-like performances of “When We Were Kids” and “CRAZY STUPID LOVE.” The connection between TWICE and Once could be seen as fans harmonized with the group, reminiscing on the past nine years together and their unbreakable bond.
As the night wound down, the encore wheel appeared, and the crowd erupted in applause when TWICE performed “Look at Me” for the first time since 2018. The song’s recent resurgence on TikTok added to the excitement as Once joined in on grooving to the cute beat. Finally, TWICE debuted another gem from their latest album, “Rush.” The audience danced along to the new B-side track as TWICE let loose, interacting with fans and the camera, enjoying the show’s final moments.
In this unreal, last U.S. stop, TWICE presented a dazzling three-hour show featuring impressive visuals and a wide range of musical styles. It’s another remarkable addition to their list of outstanding performances. Now, with the world tour spanning over a year coming to a close with the Japan shows in July, it was undoubtedly a success; TWICE never failed to keep their fans entertained. While traveling to different parts of the world, they released multiple mini-albums and solo albums and began their ninth year in the industry, a testament to their hard work. With hints at future solo projects and tours, they once again proved why they are one of the most beloved and influential acts in the world of K-pop.
