On December 15, the seven-member girl group Billlie made a spectacular return to Los Angeles for the final stop of their Our FLOWERLD (Belllie’ve You) GRAND AMERICA tour at the Teragram Ballroom. The concert was the highlight of a packed, L.A. weekend for the group, who first performed at a free public event at The Source OC and planned to reconnect with fans, called Belllie’ve, at their PLAY82 WITH Billlie IN LA fan event the day after their concert. These back-to-back schedules showcased the girls’ commitment to bridging the distance between them and their international fanbase.
Since their debut in 2021, members Moon Sua, Suhyeon, Haram, Tsuki, Sheon, Siyoon, and Haruna have captivated the public with their vibrant discography. They first captured attention with their musically distinctive debut track, “RING X RING,” and then went viral with their second comeback, “GingaMingaYo (the strange world),” another uniquely innovative song. With their soaring popularity, it was only a matter of time before Billlie set their sights on their first-ever world tour. In the intimate setting of the Teragram Ballroom, fans were treated to an unforgettable experience, making the most of their special time with Billlie.
Opening to screams of excitement, Billlie kicked off the L.A. concert with explosive performances of catchy numbers “RING X RING” and “flipp!ng a coin.” The septet dived straight into their choreography, wowing Belllie’ve with their dynamic performances. During their group introductions, the members were met with roaring cheers that mirrored the energy that they just exuded on stage. The night held special meaning for the group, as Belllie’ve’s enthusiasm reminded the girls of their first visit to L.A. last year for their LAYOVER at hello82 LA fan event. Leader Moon Sua beamed as she reflected how each tour stop was incredible, but performing in L.A. for their finale show called for the members to give it their all at this last concert in the Americas.
Billlie followed with a series of captivating performances, starting with the smooth synth, funk-pop track “EUNOIA” and the dreamy, disco-pop track “enchanted night ~ white night.” They then energized the crowd with the irresistibly catchy nu-jazz hit “trampoline.” Billlie showcased their vocal strengths with “lionheart (the real me),” a Latin moombahton-reggaeton fusion track featuring catchy beats and runs that had the crowd moving. The girls also connected with the fans in “BTTB (Back to the Basics),” waving to fans and encouraging the audience to join in for the chorus.
Breaking from their own discography, the dance unit consisting of Tsuki, Sheon, Haruna, and Siyoon covered exuberant performances of LISA’s “MONEY” and aespa’s “Whiplash” to the audience’s roars of approval. Meanwhile, Moon Sua, Haram, and Suhyeon teamed up for an astounding performance of Jessie J’s “Bang Bang,” showcasing their stunning vocal prowess with vibrant belts and runs.
Slowing it down, the crowd was treated to a heartwarming VCR that documented Billlie’s preparations for the tour, filled with their heartfelt messages and excitement to connect with their fans in person. The septet returned on stage and continued with the mellow mood with the whimsically soft, indie pop track “remembrance candy,” one of two title tracks from their most recent comeback.
Smoothly transitioning into “Bluerose,” their smooth vocals had the audience grooving and bouncing along to the beat. The girls themselves were very relaxed and had fun on stage, with Sheon and Tsuki playfully dancing together in the background during Siyoon and Moon Sua’s rap during the song’s bridge. Moving on with the lo-fi song “the eleventh day,” Billlie vibed with the chill beat as they crooned the lyrics. Siyoon creatively added a little spice when she playfully slid down a wall during her part, eliciting wild screams from the crowd.
Shooting into the last segment of the main show, the girls brought back all their energy for the intense choreography of the ever-popular “DANG! (hocus pocus).” The crowd erupted with excitement when “BYOB (bring your own best friend)” started, prompting Moon Sua to ask during the intro if the crowd knew the song and to sing along if so. Much to the girls’ delight, Belllie’ve sang along to the full song from start to finish. In their disbelief, the members even had the crowd repeat the chorus acapella at the end, which fans eagerly did and further impressed the girls.
Billlie then introduced the next song as the one that everyone was waiting for: “GingaMingaYo (the strange world).” Elated screams reverberated throughout the venue as the recognizable discordant thrums started. Billlie concluded their main show with another popular track, the classic hard rock track “RING ma Bell (what a wonderful world).” The girls brought unmatched energy and passion to their performances from beginning to end, and it was clear that they truly belonged on the stage.
The awaited encore gave fans three additional songs in the form of the Christmas song “snowy night” and the Korean version of the heavy synthpop “DOMINO ~ butterfly effect.” They closed appropriately with the jazzy synthpop number, “various and precious (moment of inertia),” a fan song that reflected on Billlie’s treasured memories they shared together with Belllie’ve. It was evident that the girls loved their fans, and the crowd returned the sentiment at every chance.
PLAY82 WITH Billlie IN LA
The following day, Billlie offered Belllie’ve one final opportunity to connect with them through a special fan event, PLAY82 WITH Billlie, organized by hello82LA. This free, public event featured the GAME PARADE, a lively relay game where Billlie and Belllie’ve teamed up and competed against each other in a variety of fun minigames. While anyone could attend, fans needed to purchase a full set of PLAY82 exclusive Billlie photocards to participate in the activities.
The GAME PARADE consisted of five rounds that tested the skills of Billlie and Belllie’ve. Participants were divided into teams, each led by a Billlie member serving as their team captain. The first game, “Heart Telepathy,” had Siyoon’s team face off against Sheon’s team. The challenge was simple: The team captains and their Belllie’ve teammates had to match one of three heart poses — finger heart, cheek heart, or a big heart with arms over their heads. When both struck the same pose, their team scored a point. After a tie between the teams, a quick rock-paper-scissors match decided the outcome in favor of Sheon’s team.
The second game was “Winter Charades,” where Team Tsuki and Team Moon Sua were given winter-themed words to act out, and their respective Belllie’ve teammates had to guess as quickly as possible. Tsuki demonstrated her great charade skills her team impressively guessed correct answers very quickly with minimal directions, resulting in a win for Team Tsuki.
The third game, “Random Music Quiz” tested Team Haram and Team Suhyeon’s Christmas carol knowledge. The staff played short snippets of a winter or Christmas-related song, and their teammates had to raise their hands as fast as possible to guess the song title. The teams could win a maximum of three points per song, with one point being deducted each time the song had to be extended. During this game, Billlie’s playful nature truly shined. Haram, despite admitting she loves Christmas carols, made a handful of incorrect, yet humorous guesses. One moment was when she sang “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” instead of “Santa Baby,” prompting the MC to say that it was incorrect, but the staff does wish everyone a Merry Christmas, inducing laughter from the audience. She took a stab at more guesses and laughed at herself as most of them were incorrect as well. Suhyeon also joined in on the fun, often dancing and singing along to the song clips her team was given. During “Let It Go,” from Disney’s Frozen, the music cut off and gave her the opportunity to proudly stand her ground and belt out her vocals, impressing the audience with her impromptu live acapella performance. Both Team Haram and Team Suhyeon ended up tying, but after another quick rock-paper-scissors match, Team Suhyeon came out on top.
The fourth game, “Catch The Jingle Bell” tested Team Haruna and Team Moon Sua’s hand-eye coordination. In this game, Belllie’ve had to catch jingle bells tossed by their respective team captains, ensuring it landed in their holiday cups. Team Haruna revealed their knack for coordination and won by a landslide.
Once all the teams finished their games, one final game was held to decide which of the winning teams was the true winner of GAME PARADE. The final round, Ring Toss, brought the winning team leaders – Sheon, Tsuki, Suhyeon, and Haruna – back to center stage to fight for victory. Haruna showcased her precision once again, winning the round and emerged victorious.
The entire hello82 event was meticulously planned to maximize the fans’ time with Billlie. To celebrate the end of the games, Belllie’ve were treated with three surprises. First off, they were allowed to be in a video with Billlie. Next, Billlie prepared a surprise performance of “rememberance candy” exclusively for the PLAY82 audience, sporting little holiday headbands to match the festive season. Lastly, as Belllie’ve exited the venue, they were met with the Billlie members themselves standing by the door and personally handing them their exclusive Billlie photocards, making the event a truly unforgettable experience from start to finish.
In the end, Billlie’s whirlwind L.A. activities delivered unforgettable experiences for all involved. From their free fan events to their finale concert at the Teragram Ballroom, Billlie ensured that every moment spent with L.A. Belllie’ve was a time well spent.
