On Saturday, July 27, the six-member South Korean group DRIPPIN performed for their devoted fans, called DREAMIN, at The Source at OC in Buena Park, CA. DRIPPIN, made up of members Yunseong, Hyeop, Changuk, Dongyun, Minseo, and Junho, debuted under Woolim Entertainment in 2020 with their mini album Boyager. After the release of mini albums, A Better Tomorrow and Villain the group went on to release their first full-length album Villain: The End in 2022 featuring the title track “The One.” Having been in the United States primarily to perform at KCON LA 2024, DRIPPIN announced this free busking event to provide another opportunity to connect with their American fans.
Prior to their anticipated busking performance, DRIPPIN visited the shopping center’s K-Pop store, Kpop Music Town, where they participated in a hi touch event with some of their fans. Coming off their impressive KCON performance, the members kicked off their outdoor busking performance with dance numbers “Nostalgia,” off their debut album Boyager, and continued with their most recent “Beautiful MAZE” off their 2024 single album of the same name. The crowd cheered the members on as they filled the center’s square, packing the first floor and lining both the second and third floor balconies. The group caught the attention of many mall patrons who were there to shop, with some even stopping to ask who was performing before deciding to stay and watch their performance.
Each member took a moment to showcase their dance moves and performed covers of idol songs such as “Love like Oxygen” by SHINee, “How Sweet” by NewJeans, and “Impossible” by RIIZE. Later on, all six members were joined onstage by Chairman David Kwak of the Dosan Memorial Foundation who awarded them with Certificates of Recognition for their exceptional dedication and outstanding contribution to the Korean community. After interacting, taking photos, and completing hand hearts with DREAMIN, DRIPPIN finished their busking event with the fan favorite, “ZERO,” off their second single album, Villain : ZERO. The members bid their final goodbyes and walked off stage amid the audience’s cheers of appreciation.
As the event concluded, DREAMIN’s excitement and anticipation for the future remained high. With DRIPPIN’s fifth single album, Weekend, set to be released on August 19, fans are eager to support the group’s upcoming activities and look forward to their next visit.
