On January 1, JYP Entertainment and Republic Record’s global female pop group VCHA, started the countdown to their official debut with their single, “Girls of the Year.” The single album, which will also include a second track called “XO Call Me,” will be released to all streaming and digital platforms on January 26 at midnight (EST) and will mark VCHA’s bold entry into 2024.
VCHA entered the music scene in 2023 through the competition series “A2K,” where group members – Camila, Lexi, Kendall, Savanna, KG, and Kaylee – were revealed during the show’s two-part finale in September. In conjunction with the group’s official announcement and the conclusion of “A2K,” they released their first pre-debut single SeVit (NEW LIGHT) in September 2023, which was packaged together with three tracks including Billboard’s No. 1 “Hot Trending Songs” charter “Y.O.Universe,” “Go Getter,” and “Know Me Like That.” The music video for “Y.O.Universe” ranked No. 1 on YouTube “Trending Worldwide,” No. 5 in the US, No. 7 in Brazil, and No. 8 in Canada within a day of its release.
The group released a second pre-debut single in November 2023 with “Ready for the World,” which also served as the theme song for “A2K.” Following the show’s conclusion, VCHA released a completed version of the track, originally written by JYP Entertainment founder J.Y Park. “Ready for the World” went on to surpass 200,000 Spotify streams just five days after its release.
“Girls of the Year” will be released on January 26 on all streaming platforms. Pre-save the debut single HERE.
