Gangnam Style sets new Guinness World Record
With the plethora of achievements this popular song, “Gangnam Style,” has received, another can now be acknowledged.
This song reached YouTube on July 15, 2012 and since then it has acquired about 2,382,900 likes. “Gangnam Style” has broken the Guinness World record for the most liked song on YouTube; this was announced on September 20, 2012 and is the most liked video in YouTube history.
“Having been the ‘Have you seen this?!’ video of the last two months across the web, it’s great to be able to award a record for this tremendously popular video. In years past it was unthinkable that something would be viewed a hundred million times, and now ‘Gangnam Style’ has achieved more than twice this figure in just 3 months on YouTube,” stated Dan Barrett, the Guinness World Records Community Manager.
Furthermore, the runner ups for most liked video include, “Baby” by Justin Bieber (about 1,329,931 likes), “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele (about 1,247,821 likes), and “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO (about 1,577,607 likes) .
