K-pop Concert to be Hosted at Google HQ in San Francisco

An array of top k-pop artists is scheduled to perform at Google’s headquarters in San Francisco on May 21st, 6PM (local time). Artists that are scheduled to perform include Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, KARA, SISTAR, MBLAQ, BEAST, Wonder Girls and more k-pop stars.

This is the first time that a kpop performance will not only be locally broadcasted but also stream through portaal sites. Google’s YouTube channel will be streaming the performances.

A local spokesperson talked about the event, “When news that Korean singers will be performing at Google’s head office broke, even the concert organisers got excited. Fans who attend Korean singers’ concerts are usually American-Koreans, but this time the Google performance will be targeted at local American pop fans. This proves the global appeal of Korean singers.”

The spokesperson also commented, “This will greatly increase the demand for concerts in America.” The event will be invite only for those that are Google employees.

SM Entertainment artists are also set to hold SM Town Live concert at California’s Honda Center a day before the scheduled Google performance.
