Girls’ Generation will finally return to the stage as a subunit called OH!GG.
OH!GG will release its single album, 몰랐니 (Lil’ Touch) on various music sites including Genie, Melon, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and Xiami Music on September 5 at 6PM (KST). The album contains two songs: the title track, “몰랐니 (Lil’ Touch)” and a B-side track called “쉼표 (Fermata).”
The subunit consists of the remaining five Girls’ Generation members – Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri, Yoona, and Hyoyeon – following Sooyoung, Seohyun, and Tiffany’s departure last from the group last year. Eager SONEs speculate that SM Entertainment chose to promote the remaining members under a subunit as opposed to Girls’ Generation as a way to honor the group’s previous eight-member lineup.
OH!GG’s name consists of Girls’ Generation’s song, “OH!” and the English abbreviation of Girls’ Generation, and will attract global fans by introducing a variety of styles of music and charm with various combinations of members.
