Psy performed the closing performance at the 40th American Music Awards (AMA).
Psy flew to Los Angeles to accept the New Media Award at the Coca-Cola Red Carpet Live pre-show for the AMA. Psy closed the ceremony starting with Gangnam Style and ending with a mash up of Gangnam Style and Too Legit to Quit.
There was speculation before the performance that the special guest joining Psy on stage would be music video stars Noh Hong Chul, 4minute’s Hyuna or Yoo Jae Suk.
The American Music Awards were streamed live on November 18 on ABC and YouTube. The awards are the third biggest awards in America, along with the Billboard Music Awards and the Grammy Music Awards.
