New K-Pop Festival Announced in London “Korea on Stage in London”


Korea on Stage in London‘, a special event celebrating the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and the UK, will be held at Ovo Arena Wembley in London, at 7pm (local time) on November 8.

To celebrate the cultural significance, the team has shared several teasers of the performers each celebrating a unique aspect of Korean culture. Gong Seung-yeon, serving as the MC for the show, shows the beauty of Korea’s cultural assets against the backdrop of Jongmyo Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Following Gong Seung-yeon, Jannabi’s teaser video was also released. Choi Jeong-hoon said, “I feel like my dream has been half-fulfilled by being able to perform at Wembley, which I have longed for,” and Kim Do-hyung expressed his excitement, saying, “I am excited to share the music of children who grew up listening to British music in Korea.”

Finally, a video starring Xdinary Heroes was released, showcasing a passionate performance of bassist Jooyeon. In particular, Jannabi and Xdinary Heroes are expected to show their pride as a ‘Chosun Band’ through live performances at the festival.

About ‘Korea on Stage’

‘Korea on Stage’ is Korea’s first performance featuring cultural assets, and this year it will be held in London, to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and the UK.

Hosted by Gong Seung-yeon, artists ATEEZ, P1 Harmony, STAYC, Jannabi, Young-ji Lee, Exdinary Heroes, Xikers, Boy Next Door, gayageum player Yageum Yageum, and British singer-songwriter Henry Moodie have confirmed their appearances.

It is expected that fans will be able to feel the touching musical exchange between the two countries through performances of famous songs representing Korea and the UK.

A vlog with actress Choi Ji-hye will further showcase ways to enjoy Seoul, including Korean cultural assets, food, and experiences, and the event will feature various events such as Polaroid photos taken with the performers, signed CDs, and free distribution of official goods from the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation. The event will be broadcasted on KBS 2TV at the end of November and broadcast around the world through KBS World.
