Starship Entertainment confirms MONSTA X‘s Joohoney will be their first label artist to make a comeback in the new year. The multitalented rapper, producer, and songwriter will return with a solo release in January, marking his first solo comeback in nearly three years since his solo debut album, LIGHTS, in May 2023.
According to Starship Entertainment, Joohoney is currently in the final stages of preparation for his comeback, which is scheduled for early January 2026. Despite being in the middle of MONSTA X’s U.S. iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, he is reportedly dedicating significant effort to crafting an album that highlights his wide-ranging musical strengths.
Even before his official solo debut, Joohoney demonstrated global potential through his mixtapes. His 2018 release DWTD (Do What They Do) charted on iTunes and the U.S. Billboard “World Albums” chart, while his 2020 release PSYCHE reached No. 2 on iTunes’ “Top K-pop” and “Worldwide Album” charts across 30 countries. These achievements firmly established his presence as a solo artist on the international stage.

Beyond music, Joohoney has also been expanding his reach through variety entertainment. In October, he was selected as the MC of the web variety show Kind Errand Center – Simcheongi, where his approachable personality and sharp wit have resonated with viewers. His growing presence in entertainment is expected to further amplify interest in his upcoming solo promotions.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X continues to build on their global momentum. The group recently won two awards, including “AAA History of K-Pop,” at the 10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025. Following the conclusion of their U.S. Jingle Ball Tour, MONSTA X will launch their new world tour, THE X : NEXUS, beginning with concerts at Seoul’s KSPO DOME from January 30 to February 1, 2026.
As Joohoney steps into the new year with a solo comeback, anticipation is high for how he will once again redefine his artistry and captivate fans worldwide.
