Mnet’s ‘BOYS II PLANET’ Semi-Final Begins Today – Here’s What to Expect

Mnet’s global K-Pop debut project BOYS II PLANET heads into its highly-anticipated semi-final stage today, featuring four original tracks, including “MAIN DISH” produced by virtual K-Pop sensation PLAVE. The remaining participants will perform under the guidance of K-Pop star mentors SEVENTEEN’s THE 8 and returning Planet Master KIM JAE JOONG as they compete for spots in the final debut lineup.   

This week’s semi-final features four original tracks, including “MAIN DISH,” produced by virtual K-Pop sensation PLAVE. This represents an unprecedented virtual-reality collaboration. The three other tracks – “Chains,” “Lucky MACHO,” and “Sugar HIGH” – are produced by K-pop hitmakers to showcase the 24 remaining participants’ versatility, spanning a wide range of genres from hip hop to rock and hybrid pop. 

SEVENTEEN’s THE 8 joins the semi-final round as Planet Master, bringing his experience as the globally renowned K-Pop group to guide participants through their crucial stage. For the live finale on September 25, KIM JAE JOONG returns as Planet Master, completing a full-circle journey as he previously mentored the participants during the show’s early episodes. 

The finale will broadcast live on September 25 at 8PM (KST), with the final debut group selected through real-time global voting.
