Boy group TRENDZ have built a reputation as one of the most creative and hands-on groups of the new K-Pop generation. Members Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yechan first introduced themselves with their 2022 debut mini album BLUE SET Chapter 1. TRACKS. Since then, they have continued to evolve their sound and artistic identity with every release, committed to shaping their own musical direction.
TRENDZ has aimed to live up to their name, which means “the seven who shape the trend of Generation Z.” In doing so, TRENDZ places a strong emphasis on authenticity. The members frequently participate in writing lyrics and developing toplines, which has built them a distinct vocal color and rap identity.
Their latest single, “Kart Racer,” captures that same high-energy spirit. Driven by fast-paced beats and confident vocals, the track channels the thrill of competition. The forward momentum aligns with the group’s trajectory as they continue to accelerate onto bigger stages around the world.
TRENDZ recently appeared at K-Pop Revolution , where they discussed their team dynamic and delivered a thrilling performance onstage. From the moment the members appeared on stage, they commanded the crowd with the confidence of seasoned performers. Their set balanced powerful choreography with engaging fan interactions, highlighting the group’s growing stage presence. Tracks like “Kart Racer” and “TNT (Truth&Trust)” injected an extra burst of adrenaline into the performance, its racing tempo perfectly suited to the festival atmosphere as fans responded with enthusiastic cheers and synchronized chants. We had the chance to sit down with TRENDZ before their set to talk about their music, creative process, and what fans can expect next.
During our conversation, TRENDZ spoke enthusiastically about “Kart Racer” and how it highlights the group’s increasingly hands-on creative process. The members revealed that Eunil and ra.L took the lead in composing the song, while Hankook contributed to the lyrics, and Yechan choreographed.
According to the members, “Kart Racer” was written with both K-Pop Revolution and their European tour in mind to create a high-energy atmosphere in their live performances. While the single marks an exciting moment for fans, TRENDZ also hinted that they are already preparing more music for release in the near future.
TRENDZ admitted that even collaborative work can come with unexpected challenges.
“While we were working on ‘KART RACER,’ we initially agreed quite smoothly on which parts would suit each member best. However, once we entered the recording stage, we realized it was more complicated than we had anticipated to match the parts to each voice,” Havit explained. “It wasn’t about disagreements, but rather about organizing everything and finding the right balance between each member’s tone and the structure of the track.”
They also reflected on their journey since their debut, explaining that their musical style has continuously evolved through experimentation. Since 2022, they have explored a variety of genres and concepts, using each comeback as an opportunity to grow.
The members shared that they are constantly working on improving further and presenting sides of TRENDZ that their fans, known as Friendz, will enjoy. TRENDZ felt that there is a responsibility that comes with hearing from Friendz that their music gives them strength.
“I want to embrace that responsibility by continuing to show even stronger performances and even cooler music, working hard to live up to the encouragement fans find in our songs,” said Hankook.

The group also touched on the balance between meeting audience expectations and staying true to their own musical identity. ra.L offered personal insight, explaining that he distinguishes between his artistic persona “ra.L.” and his personal self, “Tae-hyun,” creating different kinds of music for each.
“This separation allows me to both connect with fans and continue exploring my own creative direction,” he shared.
ra.L also opened up about staying motivated and maintaining passion in an industry that rarely slows down. “It comes from constant learning. I spend time studying trends and exploring the many musical styles that exist within K-Pop,” he said. “For me, this process is not only about personal growth but also about helping TRENDZ continue to expand and reach bigger stages.”
During our conversation, TRENDZ reflected on how they showcase their artistic identity. The group pointed to “Crime,” their most recent release before “Kart Racer,” as a track they would encourage fans to revisit. They noted that the song features particularly strong choreography and effectively captures the personal colors and passion that define TRENDZ as performers. This idea of expressing individuality extends across the group.
“I hope to highlight the many different sides of the group. We want our content to reflect the personalities and strengths of each member,” Yoonwoo shared.
Leon added, “I approach this musically by trying to express the various ‘colors’ of TRENDZ through the vocal arrangements and performances in our songs.”
Together, their perspectives underline a shared goal: to present TRENDZ not as a single, uniform concept, but as a collection of distinct identities that come together to form a cohesive artistic whole.
In a fun nod to TRENDZ’ name, we asked what “trend” each member personally represents. Their answers revealed both humor and creativity while highlighting how each member reflects a different aspect of TRENDZ’s identity.
Havit joked, “I would be a food trend, especially desserts,” bringing a playful and lighthearted perspective.
ra.L took a music-centered approach, explaining that he is constantly searching for new trending sounds and expanding his musical horizon by listening to a wide range of new releases and using that inspiration to create music.
Yechan, meanwhile, focused on performance and movement, saying, “When I create dances, I often draw inspiration from global dance trends. I observe dancers from different countries and incorporate internationally inspired elements into TRENDZ’s performances.”
Together, their answers illustrated how TRENDZ embodies trends across different dimensions: concept, music, and choreography, each member contributing a distinct layer to the group’s overall creative identity.
The group also expressed their desire not only to follow trends but to eventually create new ones themselves, incorporating their own unique style into music, visuals, and performances. Fashion plays a role in that identity as well. Eunil noted, “Because we are constantly in the public eye, styling becomes another way to express individuality while both following and setting trends.”

This approach was clearly visible: the members appeared at K-Pop Revolution in racer and motorbike-inspired jackets, perfectly matching the adrenaline-fueled concept of their newest track.
If K-Pop Revolution is any indication, TRENDZ is entering this European chapter with clarity and confidence. With a performance approach that balances precision, creativity, and a growing artistic identity, TRENDZ made a compelling case for their live presence as much as their recorded music.
