On August 17, Dreamcatcher made their triumphant return with their comeback song, “BOCA.”
“BOCA,” which means “mouth” in Spanish, is a heart-pumping track that fuses together Dreamcatcher’s signature rock sound with a fresh Mumbaton rhythm. The lyrics criticizes those who spew hurtful words at others without remorse. The song’s message talks about sealing those perpetrators’ mouths shut to stop the overflow of negativity.
Dreamcatcher’s fifth mini-album ‘Dystopia: Lose Myself’ is a continuation of their first full-length album ‘Dystopia: The Tree of Language.’ The Dystopia series marked the beginning of their new storyline after pursuing the Nightmare narrative since debut. In the ‘Dystopia’ series, it depicts a tree that bears white fruit when it hears positive words and black fruit when it hears negative words. Dreamcatcher utilized this as a metaphor to represent how hateful words and cmments can negatively affect others in this age of social media. “Scream,” the title track from the ‘Dystopia: The Tree of Language’ album, illustrated the witch hunt that innocent people were subjected to due to these hurtful comments. In “BOCA,” Dreamcatcher takes their stance against the wrongdoers and tells them to shut their mouths (“boca”) from spreading such hateful words and harming others.
In addition to “BOCA,” ‘Dystopia: Lose Myself’ is composed of five tracks that each boast the group’s various charms. Members Siyeon, Dami, and JiU also participated in the lyrics and composition of some of the tracks as well.
‘Dystopia: Lose Myself’ was officially released today, August 17 at 6PM (KST) and a showcase was held afterwards on VLive at 10PM (KST) to officially introduce the album to the public.
