D’FESTA, the global K-Pop exhibition hosted by Korean media outlet Dispatch, has finally arrived in the United States! The immersive K-Pop experience will be open to the public at The Source OC in Buena Park at the end of Summer 2024. Over the years, The Source OC has cemented itself as a Southern California hub for the K-Pop community with its various K-Pop, K-Beauty, and K-Fashion stores and an ongoing calendar of events. With the addition of D’FESTA, any K-Pop fan who visits The Source OC will enjoy amazing Korean food, stock up on merchandise, and create new memories with other fans.
On the D’FESTA Media Day, we were given a sneak peek of the highly curated space that featured nine prominent K-Pop groups: ENHYPEN, TXT, Stray Kids, NCT Dream, Twice, NCT 127, SEVENTEEN, BTS, and NU’EST. D’FESTA LA is best summarized in three parts: THE EXHIBITION, THE EXPERIENCE, and THE MOVIE.
As fans enter THE EXHIBITION, they are led through various museum-like spaces to view never-before-seen artist photos and artwork. Fans will see the “Color Portraits,” “Black & White Portraits,” and the “Memory Room” which features snapshots of idols throughout the ages along with diary excerpts. Additionally, there will be “Concept Photos” and original paintings created personally by the featured artists.
Fans then are smoothly ushered into THE EXPERIENCE where they are invited to interact with the content and artists. Visitors can take pictures with life-size cardboard cutouts, leave messages for the artists, take photobooth strips at the “Artistic Pic” area, and dance at the mini virtual stages. Fans will also be given a token to try their luck at “THE GACHA” for a mystery goodie!
At the end of THE EXHIBITION and THE EXPERIENCE, fans can purchase exclusive artist merchandise such as photocards, eco-bags, T-shirts, stickers, and posters that feature designs made by the artists themselves. To top off the experience, each D’FESTA ticket comes with an invitation to a state-of-the-art K-Pop concert experience, THE MOVIE, in the CGV Cinema right upstairs. After the 45-minute feature film, fans can refresh themselves at the cafe area with specially designed “D’Donut” and drinks in collaboration with Old Ferry Donuts. D’FESTA aims to be a special space for K-Pop fans to interact with K-Pop in ways that they have never before in an intimate setting, catered to fans.
