KCON:TACT HI 5, which runs from Saturday, September 18 through Sunday, September 26, is the world’s largest K-Culture Festival where global K-Pop fans and artists can connect and communicate regardless of current day restrictions.
Two confirmed special stages by contestants on Mnet’s popular reality competition show “Girls Planet 999” and “Street Woman Fighter” will meet global fans exclusively on KCON:TACT HI 5. First, the first set of survivors from “Girls Planet 999,” which includes 54 survivors who were selected as the result of 50 percent of the votes in Korea and 50 percent of the global votes, will perform their hit song “O.O.O(Over&Over&Over)” for the first time on the stages of KCON:TACT HI 5. “Girls Planet 999” is one of Mnet’s hit global reality competition shows where girl group trainees from China, Japan and South Korea compete to debut as a new 9-member girl group.
Members of Mnet’s female dance crew reality survival show, “Street Woman Fighter” will also perform a special stage choreographed just for KCON:TACT HI 5. Details of the performance by the most viral dance crew will be released soon.
In addition, K-Pop fans from all over the world will be able to enjoy various digital content before the concert. The 1st episode of “LIVE PREMIERE with WOODZ,” plus more episodes hosted by ATEEZ, DREAMCATCHER, and ONF, will take place at the virtual event. “Check-in” videos teasing artists that will appear during KCON:TACT HI 5 are being created using a challenge format familiar to young people around the world.
As always, artists and fans will be able to communicate across physical boundaries: AB6IX, DREAMCATCHER, and THE BOYZ will be on Twitter Spaces, and “Live Fan Gathering” will be held in September, where fans of popular artists in the U.S. and Japan will gather and be able to communicate in real-time via chat.
Meanwhile, popular programs such as KCON STUDIO LIVE from the USA will also be back, featuring panels and workshops that are part of the full KCON experience. Some of these include a meet and greet with YouTube star and violinist JUN, an art workshop with Tiffany Lui, and a panel on the K-Pop industry with journalists Jeff Benjamin and Lai Frances.
KCON:TACT HI 5 will be available to U.S. fans on the KCON official and Mnet K-POP YouTube channels.
