AJ left the group a while ago to attend Columbia University in New York. Fans assumed that AJ would eventually return to U-KISS after finishing his studies at university.
However after going on hiatus and fans not hearing from him, AJ has officially announced that he would be departing the group.
In true kpop style, Jaeseop shared a hand written letter. In the letter he told fans that his contract with NH Media had come to and end on August 29. He did not re-sign with the agency and thanked fans for the support they had shown him over the years. He promised to become a better musician in the future, likely that he would return as a solo singer.
