A.C.E Become Goblins in Aesthetic “도깨비 (FAVORITE BOYS)” MV

On September 2, A.C.E made their comeback with their latest release “도깨비 (FAVORITE BOYS)” from their fourth EP, “HZJM: The Butterfly Phantasy.” The song boasts an intense, retro house beat that is matched by its high-energy choreography that will leave viewers winded and in awe of A.C.E’s impeccable synchronization.

The Korean title “도깨비” translates to “goblin” and is not to be mistaken for Western folklore’s interpretation of a grotesque, malevolent ghoul. Goblins in Korean folklore are depicted as spirits of inanimate objects that possess supernatural powers  that could bring good fortune (or strife) to humans that cross their path.

The “도깨비 (FAVORITE BOYS)” music video pays homage to traditional Asian culture while infusing modern elements to create a visually stunning masterpiece. Traditional architecture and murals serve as aesthetic backdrops and A.C.E’s hanbok attires are modernized with graphic t-shirts, studded collars and headpieces, and even a Nike headband. The nod to traditional elements are also reflected in the group’s individual and group concept photos and album design.

A.C.E’s fourth EP “HJZM: The Butterfly Phantasy” was released on September 2 at 6 PM (KST) and consists of a total of five new tracks.
