While K-Pop quartet Signal‘s latest digital release sings of a heartfelt goodbye, fans are not ready to say goodbye to the group just yet!
On April 8 (KST), Signal – consisting of members Kyuhwan, Gihwan, Youngho, and Bokeun — released their music video for their digital single, “GoodBye” from their second single album, THE SECOND SIGNAL: END. The group’s angelic vocals are highlighted in this tender ballad about a bittersweet farewell to someone and the hope of seeing them again one day. The music video depicts each member wandering on their own as they reminiscence on happier times.
A tweet with the caption “The pain of underrated groups” went viral on Twitter shortly after the music video’s release. In the tweet was a screenshot of a Signal fan’s YouTube comment that said “signatures can we get this to 1.5k-2k views in 24 hours!!” The tweet, which was posted on April 9, attracted the attention of K-Pop stans from several different fandoms and accumulated over 40,000 likes and 8,000 retweets. After giving the track a listen, fans began adding the music video to their streaming playlists and filling the video’s Youtube comment section with positive messages and words of encouragement for the four-piece group.
Once the video reached just over 6,000 views, Bokeun uploaded a screenshot of the music video’s view count onto his Twitter account with the caption, “So amazing thank you everyone.” As of April 14 (KST), the music video reached over 100,000 views, making it the most viewed video on Signal’s official Youtube channel. Through their own respective Youtube channels and Twitter accounts, Kyuhwan, Gihwan, Youngho, and Bokeun expressed their gratefulness for the outpour of support from fans:
