Rising rookie group PIXY made their debut with their first digital single, “Wings.”
Fresh on the K-Pop scene, PIXY is a six-member group hailing from ALLART Entertainment and Happy Tribe Entertainment. The team consists of members Ella, Lola, Satbyeol, Dia, Sua, and Dajeong. The group’s name is inspired by the fairies in English folklore who can captivate the audiences with their unique, reverse-charms.
The song, “Wings” boasts a trap beat, addictive hooks, and dreamy lyrics that tell the dark and unsettling tale of PIXY’s lore. The members represent six fairies who were born without wings. Because of this, they were ostracized from society and lived together in the depths of the woods. After stumbling upon a pair of wings one day, one of the fairies began to have nightmares of a witch who will curse them unless they bring the wings to her before the “red moon rises.” The song and music video reflect the start of PIXY’s journey to deliver the wings to the witch and their struggles between their desire to keep the desired wings and the fear of being cursed for all of eternity.
While the music video has only shown us a glimpse into the lore, it leaves viewers eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the rookie group’s story. Will they find their wings? Who is the witch and what does she want to do with the wings? Only time will tell!
