Mark Tuan Sings of Heartbreak and Betrayal in New Single, “hold still”

After emerging anew in the music scene, Mark Tuan made his return with his new single “hold still,” blending emotional pop and infectious groove. Co-written by Mark, the song is his second pre-release single for his upcoming EP, which features his participation in other tracks and explores themes of heartbreak, timing, and leaving love behind.

In this new track, Mark expresses being blindsided and left motionless by a sudden heartbreak. With a catchy, dance-driven hook layered over vulnerable lyrics, Mark sings: “You should have told me hold still while you aimed / ‘Cause now I lay in my heart break / You should have told me hold still while you aimed / ‘Cause now I taste blood on your name.” The vivid metaphors capture that emotional aftermath – a state of emotional limbo where he is neither able to move on nor feel loved by that person.
