Vibrant musical energy was on full display at the Fox Theater in Boulder, CO as SECRET NUMBER set the small intimate venue ablaze. Embarking on their 1st US TOUR 2024 UNLOCK in late July, the six-member K-Pop girl group performed across eight major U.S. cities. Despite debuting in 2020, the group has already gained an international following and solidified their place in the music scene, performing on various awards shows, winning rookie awards, and continuing to release single albums it’s no wonder they’ve received warm welcomes from their U.S. fans.

SECRET NUMBER paid a visit to the picturesque Colorado town on Sunday, August 4, for their fifth tour stop. Dialing up the heat, they scorched the stage with their hot choreography, angelic vocals, and electric stage presence. Fans known as LOCKEY lined the block sweating with anticipation as they braved the sunny weather, eager to attend the musical night ahead.

LOCKEY filled the venue and the energy was high as the countdown to the show began. The small venue went dark in an instant and the large screen promptly lit up, displaying a VCR that presented each member of SECRET NUMBER: Léa, Dita, Jinny, Minji, Soodam, and Zuu. Fans excitedly cheered as each member’s face popped up on the screen. As the VCR ended, the venue immediately went dark again, provoking even louder screams from LOCKEY. The stage was quickly flooded with light as the opening lines of “Who Dis?” rang out from the loudspeakers.

The stage lights flicked on, revealing the six members dressed in edgy, all-black street attire as they dove into their opening song’s snappy choreography, instantly grabbing LOCKEY’s full attention. SECRET NUMBER’s skills and artistry were immediately showcased as the members danced perfectly in sync with one another and displayed their melodic vocals.

After finishing their song with an ending fairy pose, the members relaxed and formally introduced themselves to the Colorado crowd. Each smile and wave from the members was greeted with loud and loving cheers. The members expressed their gratitude and happiness to be both on tour and in Boulder. The group then announced their next song would be “STARLIGHT,” which received enthusiastic applause as the members moved into place.

Following the cute and bubbly song, the group slightly switched gears and went into their next more moody song, “HOLA,” emulating hot summery night vibes with vibrant and lively tones accompanied by smooth and fluid choreography. They then performed “Dangerous In Love,” highlighting the group’s synchronization, Dita and Minji’s powerful vocals, and Jinny’s rap skills.

The members took a brief water break to ask Boulder LOCKEY if they were having fun and were met with thunderous cheers of excitement. The group then announced that their next song would be “TAP.” The prickly and sparkling intro mixed with sultry movements captivated the audience. The song transitioned into flowy vocals, and electronic and perky dance moves as the chorus sped up. The members portrayed high energy and confident attitudes.

SECRET NUMBER went on to perform their songs “DOOMCHITA,” “Holiday,” and “Crazy Love.” For “Crazy Love” the members taught LOCKEY the song’s dance challenge. The moves consisted of puffing out your cheeks while making cheek heart symbols, pointing three times across the room, giving a thumbs up, and shimmying. Fans cheerfully mimicked SECRET NUMBER as they performed the moves in real-time to the bubblegum poppy track, making the experience more special and interactive.

As SECRET NUMBER walked off stage, a new VCR interview with the members was shown. When asked to describe in five words how it feels to go on tour Soodam responded, “We are on the way!”

Meanwhile, Léa explained the challenges of preparing for the tour, “There was nothing easy! But if I must choose, we were able to decide on the setlist quickly since we had uniform opinions. I forget the choreography easily so it felt like I was learning everything from the beginning. The most difficult thing was the choreography!”

They also gave a message to LOCKEY. Zuu expressed, “Our LOCKEYs! We are finally on the US Tour. Thank you so much for waiting for us and let’s have fun!”

The girls then moved into unit and solo stages. Soodam and Léa performed a dance cover of Beyoncé’s “Fever” which consisted of burlesque-style dance moves and hair flips, while Dita and Zuu choreographed a dance cover of Tinashe’s “Nasty,” incorporating fluid body rolls and dynamic hip movements, highlighting the song’s rhythm. Jinny and Minji performed a vocal cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” with Jinny flawlessly rapping the verses while Minji beautifully sang the chorus. The performance was amplified as the two energetically leaped around the stage to hype up the crowd.

After the unit stages, the members all came back together and performed their next song, “SLAM.” Trap beats, bold and dynamic choreography, and hard-hitting verses brought a new energy to the stage. The members possessed a confident and powerful energy while they performed and commanded the stage as dark blue lights illuminated them, creating a dark aura.

With the lights fading to a soft purple, SECRET NUMBER transitioned into their next song, “PRIVACY.” The soft and enchanting intro with dreamy vocals broke into an electronic chorus dance break where members executed synchronized dance moves. SECRET NUMBER performed the rest of their setlist which consisted of “Fire Saturday,” “Got That Boom,” and “DOXA,” and ended their show with their emotional ballad, “Beautiful One.”

As the night quickly came to an end, SECRET NUMBER walked off the stage shouting to LOCKEY, “We love you LOCKEY!” and “We love you Boulder!” while the members smiled and sent finger hearts to their fans in departure, Boulder LOCKEYs were sad to see them go but cheered with love and gratitude. The stage lights slowly faded to black as a final VCR lit up the screen. A black and white slideshow of behind-the-scenes dance practice photos slowly played with little thank-you notes to LOCKEY. The crowd quietly watched as they absorbed the heartfelt final moment of the night.

SECRET NUMBER gifted LOCKEYs a magical night at the Fox Theater. Although their tour has already come to an end, LOCKEY is already eagerly anticipating the group’s return to Boulder.
