R&B soloist Yugyeom finished up the North American leg of his TRUSTY World Tour with two back-to-back shows at The El Rey Theater in Los Angeles, CA. The show on Friday, March 28, was added to the tour schedule due to popular demand after the initial Saturday show immediately sold out.

Yugyeom first rose to fame as the maknae and main dancer of the K-Pop boy group GOT7, which debuted in 2014. In 2021, he officially launched his solo career under AOMG as a singer-songwriter. Following the release of his first studio album, TRUST ME, in February 2024, he wrapped up the Asia leg of his TRUSTY tour, performing across eight countries. Now, fresh off GOT7’s long-awaited comeback in January, Yugyeom has arrived in North America to reunite with American Ahgases.

The night opened with Yugyeom performing “I Want U Around (Feat. DeVita)” from his debut album, Point Of View: U, where he showed off his sexy dance skills during DeVita’s verse. After the upbeat “LOLO,” Yugyeom greeted the crowd enthusiastically and expressed how badly he has missed Los Angeles, his second home, after returning for the first time in six years. Because he thinks his songs are easy to sing, Yugeyom expressed his desire to hear the crowds’ voices singing along. The crowd exploded into barks after he performed “WOOYAYAYA” and Yugyeom barked right back at the crowd. He then performed “Take You Down (Feat. Coogie),” including doing Coogie’s rap verse, and then his debut title track “All Your Fault (Feat. Gray).”

He introduced the next segment as a selection of songs from his TRUST ME album, in which he was personally involved in both writing and composing. After confirming the audience was ready, Yugyeom launched into performances of “SHE,” “Dance,” “Steppin,” and SHINE (Feat. Sumin).”

At the show’s halfway point, Yugyeom exited the stage while DJ Wegun played a set and mixed in some of GOT7 title tracks like “Lullaby” and “NANANA.” The Ahgases in the crowd proudly waved their lightsticks and sang along to the songs. Yugyeom returned to the stage to perform the songs “Be Alright (Feat. Punchnello),” “All About U (Feat. Loco),” and his most recent single, Sweet Like.” He also taught fans the hook to his unreleased song titled “Set Me Free” so that everyone could enjoy it along with him.

Slowing things down, he sang “Falling In Love” with just himself and a mic stand on stage, emphasizing his vocals. He quickly changed up the mood with the groovy, bright title track “Ponytail (Feat. Sik-K)” and his first all-English song, “Summer Blues,” both from the TRUST ME album. He followed up with the cheerful “LA SOL MI” and playful “Love The Way (Feat. Jay Park & Punchnello).”

Sadly, it was now time to say goodbye. Yugyeom thanked Ahgases for coming and made the GOT7 hand symbol to pay homage to his roots. He acknowledged that he would join the army later this year and promised to take care of himself, stay healthy, and return with an album that would make his fans proud.

For the last song, he chose to perform “1 MINUTE,” which accurately captured how fast the night was coming to an end. As soon as Yugyeom exited the stage, Ahgases quickly started cheering for an encore. Yugyeom, from offstage, asked, “Do you guys want some more? Really?” to which the crowd replied eagerly and requested for him to return. Yugyeom returned on stage in a customized, bright yellow Lakers Jersey for the vibey song “WUH.” To truly end the night with a bang, Yugyeom and the entire crowd jumped and danced to their heart’s content to the intense party banger of a song “HARD CARRY” by GOT7.

After his successful shows in Los Angeles, Yugyeom is set to head to Latin America next to close out the tour. As he prepares for his upcoming military service, Ahgases will be cheering him on from afar – wishing him good health, happiness, and a swift return to the United States.
