[RECAP] TREASURE Creates a Special Moment in Los Angeles

TREASURE finished off their Special Moment: First US Tour on Sunday, April 13, at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA. The group consists of 10 members: Choi Hyun Suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan. This marked TREASURE’s first U.S. tour since their debut in 2019.

Before the show began, Teumes stood outside as the sun set, waiting to get scanned in to get merchandise or food before the show began. It’s standard to see fans wear their clear bags, attached with photocard holders containing the TREASURE members. Teumes were also spotted unboxing their new lightsticks right before, waiting in anticipation.

The show was sweet, to the point, and efficiently introduced TREASURE. The members gave their all with no backtrack or long ments: the focus was simply on the performances and the music. With bold rearrangements and smooth musical transitions, the live band brought new energy to TREASURE’s hits, making the show feel like a Coachella-worthy performance. Simple yet powerful, the lighting captured the mood of every moment, casting a magical glow over the performance. There weren’t any VCRs or close-ups of the members, but the energy was still infectious as it was entertaining. It was raw musical talent, something that YG is known for beyond the spectacle.

As the light dimmed, TREASURE slowly got on stage while fans screamed in excitement, beginning their setlist with “JIKJIN” from their first EP, The Second Step: Chapter One. TREASURE brought the house down while wearing blue leather jackets, with Teumes screaming the chorus at the top of their lungs. Before the final bombastic chorus, Choi Hyunsuk shouted out to the crowd, “What’s up LA?!” which made the crowd jump and sing along.

The group went straight into “Bona Bona” with the same type of fiery energy from the beginning track. It was impressive to see Teumes rap alongside Hyunsuk, Haruto, and Yoshi during the second verse. Fans also enjoyed Jeongwoo’s killing part as he completed his special bridge part, staring intensely at the audience.

The next two songs on the setlist were “Boy” and “I Love You,” both of which were popular within the crowd. “Boy” featured a short dance break much to Teumes’ surprise, and “I Love You” had the TREASURE members dancing ferociously to show their pure love for their fans. It was an intense outpouring of love, and it was evident with the finger hearts throughout the choreography. Fans devoured Jeongwoo’s high note before the final chorus was a highlight.

After performing four fierce songs back to back, TREASURE introduced themselves to the crowd, with a few members trading their charismatic sides for cutely asking the crowd cutely for water, or creating makeshift sweatbands with towels on their foreheads. TREASURE then introduced their different colors and subunits for the next section of the show.

Asahi and Haruto were up first with their duet “Thank You,” a sweet rock melody reminiscent of an anime opening. It was a nice break as the two members dashed across the stage playfully. Next was T5’s “Move,” a sensual dance-pop subunit song that featured the “five handsomest members,” according to YG himself. The song was a fan favorite, complete with body rolls and thigh grabs.

Finally, the subunit section wrapped up with a mix of “G.O.A.T” and “Volkno” from TREASURE’s rapline: Hyunsuk, Haruto, and Yoshi. The charisma was off the charts, and it got everyone’s blood pumping. The members spat some serious fire, and some fans were spotted rapping along to the songs as well, matching their energy.

Teumes were hyped and could barely catch their breath at the end of the two songs before getting into “MMM.” The slow, hot, and intense choreography got the crowd screaming endlessly as the members teasingly showed off their abs and hip thrusts.

TREASURE re-emerged with white jackets and shirts after a short musical transition, shifting to a lighter and happier vibe. “Yellow”’s saccharine melody was an immense earworm, and the members playfully winked at the crowd. As the members asked for Teumes to sing along, they happily complied, singing into the next song, “SARURU.”

SARURU continued on the theme of the bright and energetic, with the members beckoning the crowd to chant “Hey!” with them at the end of the song. The members beamed as the crowd sang along, bouncing around to the beat.

After a short ment to check in with the audience, the group returned to their charismatic side with “KING KONG.” The members beat their chests like the fictional character and sang passionately about their love. They also executed a small dance break that perfectly encapsulated the song, showing off their coordination and prowess.

The desire to obtain Teumes’ love continued on with “I WANT YOUR LOVE” whose lyrics feature a party-like vibe of getting drunk and falling in love. “B.O.M.B” was a complete 180, a sweet and adorable profession of love. TREASURE’s charming sides got many falling in love with them even more, with fans screaming and commenting to one another in excitement.

During a brief break, the members expressed their desire to return to LA, thanking Teumes for coming out to see them. Fans screamed back their adoration, chanting back “L-A, L-A, L-A!” with Yoshi beatboxing on the side. They asked for a photo together at the end before heading into the last few songs of the show.

Hello” continued the theme of cute and lighthearted songs, showcasing TREASURE’s range. Fans sang devotedly, chanting, “1, 2, 3, 4 / You know what I’m waiting for!” at the climax of the track.

The “famous on TikTok” “DARARI,” was unforgettable and allowed the members to interact with each other, making hearts with each other or hugging one another. They were having fun, clearly grinning from ear to ear and enjoying the time they had on stage. TREASURE kept the energy with “RUN” from their second album, Reboot. The members used this time to do fanservice with Teumes, waving and flirting with them.

After a short intermission, TREASURE returned to the stage in their tour sweaters and shirts. They performed a little medley of “Going Crazy,” “B.L.T,” and “Orange” before thanking the live band that kept up with them throughout the night.

The group had a few words to say before heading into the encore. “Thank you all for making our stage even more special because the stage shined brighter because of you!”

Unexpectedly, TREASURE did another encore, concluding the night with another round of “I WANT YOUR LOVE” and “MMM.” The members used this time to take selfie photos and videos with Teumes, and splashing water on each other and the audience. Fans stuck out their headbands and cowboy hats for the members to wear, which some did. The group wrapped up by saying their final goodbyes before the end of the show.

Although this marked the end of the U.S. leg of the fan concert, TREASURE will be embarking on an arena tour across Japan in May. The group aspired longingly to return to LA for another tour, and until then, LA Teumes will be waiting for their return.
