Making a stop in the Windy City on July 17, as part of their “MY TURN” North America Tour 2026, Korean rock band, Rolling Quartz, was greeted by fans of all ages, who gathered at Chicago’s Logan Square Auditorium to spend an evening with this chart-topping indie band.
Rolling Quartz was formed in 2019 through the merger of two bands, Rolling Girlz and Rose Quartz. Spending their first year together performing primarily in Seoul’s popular Hongdae neighborhood, the five-member band, consisting of Arem (bass), Hyunjung (guitar), Iree (guitar), Yeongeun (drums), and Jayoung (vocals), made their official debut under Rolling Star Entertainment in 2020. In 2022, the band made waves in the music world by becoming the very first Korean indie band to make it onto the Top 5 US iTunes Rock Albums chart and ranking No. 23 on the global iTunes chart, with the release of their first EP, Fighting.
In 2023, Rolling Quartz played their first show in Chicago, as part of their ROCK’N’ROLL PARADISE US Tour 2023, and returned two years later with their STAND UP US & Canada Tour 2025. With local fans eager to welcome them back once again, Rolling Quartz took the stage to the roar of an excited crowd.
Wasting no time in delivering exactly what fans wanted, Rolling Quartz kicked the evening off with “RE:BOLD,” the lead track off the group’s recently released EP, Roll the Dice. With the crowd head-banging along, the group kept the energy high as they moved into crowd favorites, “My Turn” and the band’s 2020 debut single, “Blaze.”
After taking a brief moment to welcome the band’s loyal fans, affectionately known as Diadem, the group wasted no time in moving into a set that included “Good Night” and “Rock’n’roll paradise.” Early fans were quick to recognize the two tracks off the group’s chart-topping EP, Fighting, and were more than happy to let the band know just how much they enjoyed these throwbacks.
Much to the crowd’s delight, the throwbacks didn’t stop there. Moving straight into “ONE,” the energy in the room skyrocketed as the band got the crowd jumping through the BJ Battle of Destruction theme song.
Moving back to their most recent album, Rolling Quartz kept the energy high with “Roll the dice,” an obvious fan favorite as the crowd danced and sang along.
Seizing the chance to take another quick break to chat with fans, Jayoung admitted that she was a little nervous about their next song. Fans were a little curious as to why she might be nervous about performing anything, until she explained that they were going to do a cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Jayoung explained that deciding to perform such an iconic piece of rock history was intimidating, as everyone knows the song and expectations surrounding a cover would be high. Needless to say, Jayoung’s worries were completely unfounded as the crowd went absolutely wild the second she started singing. The rafters rang as Diadem joined Jayoung in singing every word of the beloved track, making this moment one of the highlights of the evening.
Needing a moment to take a collective breath, the band took this moment to chat with Diadem. Iree noted that they had flown 7,109 miles to get here, then spent another six hours in a van, just to spend this time with them. Naturally, the crowd was only too happy to show their love and gratitude for this moment by erupting into cheers. She then went on to thank fans for making it “feel like home, every time we’re here.” Yeongeun took a moment to tell fans just how happy she was to have this time to spend together and thanked Diadem for giving the band memories they would “cherish for a long time.”
After sharing such sweet sentiments, the band slowed things down a bit with “Delight” and “Azalea,” another pair of tracks off their debut EP. Between the two, Iree had a chance to show off her incredible skill as a guitarist with a solo that absolutely blew the crowd away. Picking the collective jaw off the floor, the crowd erupted in cheers when the band kicked the energy in the room up another notch with the 2025 single, “Masquerade,” and the 2023 single, “Fearless.”
Another moment of rest allowed more members a chance to greet fans. Arem told Diadem that she had “always dreamt of this moment” and that they are “always on my mind.” Hyunjung carried on the sentiment by reminding Diadem that “your cheers give us strength” and “your support is a precious gift.” She then thanked everyone for spending their evening with the band and reminded Diadem that she loved them, which sent the crowd into rapturous cheers.

Moving into “Stand Up,” Hyunjung and Arem stole the spotlight with a pair of solos that once again left the crowd in awe. Harnessing that energy, Rolling Quartz had the entire room jumping as they wrapped up the evening with “Sing your heart out.”
After thanking everyone for coming, the band exited the stage, but the crowd stayed where they were, their unified chant of “one more song” filling the auditorium. Unable to resist such an enthusiastic demand for more, Rolling Quartz took the stage once again for an encore performance of “Romantist.”
As the last soulful notes of Jayoung’s voice were lost in the cheers of the crowd, the show came to an end. Of course, no show is complete without a group photo and a little fan service. With Jayoung and Iree draped in the Korean flag, Yeongeun sporting the City of Chicago’s flag, and Hyunjung and Arem draped in the U.S. flag, the band posed for photos to commemorate the evening. With the photos done, the band took a moment to toss guitar picks and drumsticks into the crowd. Several of the members even reached out to take the hands of fans lucky enough to be near the stage, before making their final exit.
With 32 stops ahead of them, Rolling Quartz will be making their way across North America for the next several months, wrapping up their “MY TURN” tour in Dallas, Texas in early October.
