Loossemble brought vibrant energy, endearing moments, and engaging performances to New York’s The Town Hall on October 9. This show served as the second stop of their tour, Loossemble 2024 Concert in U.S Up_Link Station, and their second tour overall. Their first tour, Loona Assemble The US Debut Assembly, took place last year, with its opening show happening in New York. Four members, Hyunjin, Vivi, Gowon, and Hyeju, performed as a quartet because it was announced that the group’s youngest, Yeojin, would be sitting out on this tour due to health concerns. Despite Yeojin’s absence, the remaining members put on a stellar show, filling in the gaps from missing part of their team and ensuring fans came and left smiling.
Their passionate fans, C.Loo, went above and beyond to celebrate their favorite girl group’s return to New York. Fans lined up outside The Town Hall for hours before showtime, many wearing Loossemble tour merchandise and passing out custom freebies, including banners, posters, stickers, photocards, and more. Some fans even worked together to have Loossemble billboards playing in Times Square.
The show started with a tinge of magic as the crowd erupted to Loosemble’s entrance song, “Hocus Pocus.” Loossemble arrived dressed in black and white numbers, which they dawned in the music video for their latest album’s lead single, “TTYL.” Keeping the crowd energized, they transitioned into “He Said I Said,” a lighthearted and bubbly pop song about having a crush on someone.
The heightened crowd energy continued as the members were welcomed warmly during their introductions. Gowon expressed appreciation on behalf of the group, stating that she was grateful to return to New York after visiting for last year’s tour. Before slowing down the show’s pace, the girls erupted into eye-catching choreography as they performed “Girls’ Night.”
Microphone stands were brought out for the next few songs, “Newtopia” and “Secret Diary.” During “Newtopia,” Loosemble did a minimalistic hand routine while simultaneously encouraging the crowd to sing and sway along. Between these songs, the group took a break to address the crowd again and discuss the adventures they got up to during their short stop in New York. Hyeju even revealed that the group saw a fanmade billboard in Times Square and expressed her thanks. The members showed a more sensual side with “Secret Diary” as they strutted around the stage and sang to one another at various points in the performance.
The group traveled back in time with the next two songs, “Real world” and “Colouring,” two tracks from their 2023 self-titled debut EP. “Real world” had many layers to its dance, with some elements being more sensual and other endearing parts, such as Hyunjin and Gowon linking arms before waving and smiling at the crowd. The choreography for “Colouring” was as entrancing as the song itself, as they conducted gorgeous, fluid choreography using chairs.
Although the crowd was delighted throughout the entire show, the excitement and cheers elevated massively with the introduction of Loossemble’s most recent title track, “TTYL.” Loossemble fed off the enormous crowd energy through their captivating performance, with some fans even dancing along. Luckily, C.Loo who were experts at the “TTYL” dance featured their skills on camera with the “TTYL Challenge” segment. After picking a member’s name from a box, Gowon got selected to teach New York C.Loo some choreography and dance with the crowd for a special video.
After participating in the fun dance challenge and taking photos with the crowd, Loossemble reassembled for “Cotton Candy” and “Confessions,” two unit songs from their EP TTYL. As Yeojin is the only member present on both unit songs, seeing how the members worked around her absence on these songs in particular was interesting. The performance was seamless, as the members transitioned from Vivi and Hyeju’s “Cotton Candy” to Hyunjin and Gowon’s “Confessions.” They capped off “Confessions” with a group dance segment as Vivi and Hyeju confidently slid onto the stage to join Hyunjin and Gowon. After completing performances for all the songs off of their most recent release, the remainder of the show featured songs from their previous EPs, with fan favorite “Boomerang” appearing next on the setlist. The powerful choreography for “Boomerang” showed a commanding side of the group.
They warmed the hearts of fans with another interactive segment called “Why I Love Loossemble.” Before the show, fans received Post-it notes to write down their favorite things about Loossemble. All the sweet messages were placed on a whiteboard and read aloud by the members, with many complimenting them and sharing the positive impact of their music. One message that Vivi read said “You guys work hard and always do your best. Xoxo.” A message that Hyunjin shared was “You always make me smile.” The fan who wrote that message shouted enthusiastically after Hyunjin read it, capturing Vivi’s attention and acknowledgment.
As the show was nearing the end, Loossemble performed a few more songs before their encore. They did a stunning dance during “Moonlight,” where they incorporated bright yellow handheld light orbs into the choreography. Also, Hyeju had a special solo dance segment during “Moonlight.” They highlighted their gorgeous vocals with a heartfelt selection of “Truman Show.” The members shared meaningful thoughts about their show in New York before heading into “Sensitive,” their lighthearted debut single, and “Starlight,” where they took time to interact with fans directly by posing for pictures and taking phone videos. The fans cheered “Encore!” as Loossemble slipped backstage for a quick change.
The group returned on stage minutes later wearing tour t-shirts and holding glowing lightsticks. For their final encore, they sang “Strawberry soda” and their fan song “Day by day,” utilizing these songs to get last-minute fan interactions in before making their exit. They took more phone videos for lucky fans up front and grooved along to the music with fans. They walked around the stage to wave goodbye and thank the fans after finishing “Day by day,” ensuring that every concertgoer felt their heartfelt farewell. From beginning to end, Loossemble put on an excellent show, expressing their appreciation for fans through special moments and loads of memorable performances.
