After a long month and 25 cities, 82MAJOR touched down in the City of Angels to conclude their first North American tour, 82 SYNDROME. The six-member boy group consisting of leader Seong Il and members Ye Chan, Seong Mo, Seong Bin, Seok Joon, and Do Gyun has taken North America by storm with their charming personalities, energetic dancing, and commanding rap and vocal skills.

On July 19, dozens of 82MAJOR fans, known as 82DE (pronounced “attitude”), lined the streets of downtown Los Angeles outside of the historic Palace Theatre in anticipation of the night’s performance. Despite waiting in the heat, 82DE brought the energy as they filed into the auditorium, singing along as the venue’s speakers blasted the group’s songs and taking their best outfit pictures in front of the stage. As the clock ticked closer to 7 PM, the murmurs of the concertgoers began to subside. Suddenly, the warm lights of the theatre faded to black, signaling the start of the show with an ecstatic roar from the crowd.

82MAJOR launched full speed into their first track, “TAKEOVER,” the explosive title track off of their most recent EP, SILENCE SYNDROME. Next up was the funky rap track “Stuck,” where even the main vocalists of the group shone with their exquisite rapping abilities. The members then took a moment to catch their breath and address the crowd.

“We prepared an amazing show for you tonight!” Do Gyun declared.

Seong Il called on the audience, asking, “Can we get this party started?” to an eruption of cheers and screams.

They kept up the energy with performances of “Heroes” and “Gossip,” before transitioning into the raunchy track “Face Time.” All members boast writing credits on the fan-favorite song, which had 82DE singing along to the cheeky lyrics and bumping to the bass of a Jersey club beat in the pre-chorus. The next performance, “Thorns,” gave Do Gyun a chance to shine as he belted impressive high notes during the song’s chorus.

When the members weren’t tearing up the stage with their dynamic choreography, they spent time interacting with fans.

“I heard the Griffith Observatory is very famous in LA. But I don’t need to go because the stars are right here!” Seong Bin flirted.

The members also teased each other on stage, showing their close bond as a group. Ye Chan and Seok Joon showed off their best aegyo, much to the satisfaction of fans – and the cringe of their fellow members.

They then introduced the next song, “Birthday,” dedicating it to all the celebrants in the crowd. The laidback track was matched with cute choreography that allowed members to interact on stage, play fighting with each other, and “blowing” out fake candles. “Sure Thing,” another endearing track and their most-streamed song to date, followed. The airy choreography was filled with cute moments between the members and a plethora of hand hearts sent to the 82DE in the audience.

The next set of songs brought back the fiery energy. “Passport” showed off Seong Bin’s skillful rapping as he effortlessly delivered his lines while hyping up the crowd. On the song’s meaning, Ye Chan emphasized that through the 82 SYNDROME tour, 82MJAOR will continue to expand their performances globally so that they can meet all of their beloved 82DE.

The next songs, “Suspicious” and “Say More,” were released exclusively on the group’s Soundcloud and were prepared specifically to perform on the group’s tour, with lyrics written by Seong Mo and Ye Chan.

The group then progressed to the hard-hitter number, “Illegal,” which put Seok Joon’s addictive deep voice on display. “Choke,” another fan-favorite, came next. As fans chanted along to the repeating chorus, the group flaunted their precise synchronicity through the song’s ending dance break.

One of the most hype songs of the night was “82.” As the group’s unofficial anthem, “82” lets the world know that 82MAJOR is not here to play – and that they plan on making their mark on the music industry. The members were able to show off their skills as all-rounders through the rap-heavy song. The members forewent choreography for this number, staying at the front of the stage to interact with the 82DE as they jumped, danced, and chanted along to the song’s repeating “82” mantra.

“‘82’ is a really special song to us,” Ye Chan explained as the members caught their breath. “We rap about the things that we’re proud about, the things we want to show off. We rap about Korean culture and ourselves. And that’s why it’s such a meaningful song.”

Before performing their last song, the members took the time to thank fans for all their support and express their gratitude to the company and tour staff for a successful first tour. The group then performed their 90s hip-hop-inspired debut song “First Class,” ending the night with a bang. The stage kept fans on their feet as they jumped to the strong beat of the song, matching the infectious energy of the members on stage.

After a quick break, the members returned to the stage for an encore, much to the excitement of 82DE. As the group sang the heartwarming track, “Promise You,” they paraded around the stage, getting closer looks at handmade fan signs and a chance to directly interact with audience members. 82DE bopped along to the sweet ballad, the love between fans and artists palpable in the air.

As the night finally wound down, the six members reiterated how grateful they were to those who showed up for them and made promises to see 82DE again soon.

82MAJOR’s passion and ambition as a rookie group were evident throughout their show at the Palace Theatre. Although new stars on the scene, they are sure to keep people coming back with their commitment to high-quality live performances. If you missed the 82 SYNDROME tour, you can catch 82MAJOR back in Los Angeles at KCON taking place on August 1-3, 2025, at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena.
