International icons BTS has finally made their comeback with the last installment of their Love Yourself trilogy.
On August 24, BTS released their music video for “IDOL,” the title track for their repackaged album, Love Yourself: Answer. Since the video teaser release on the 22nd, fans have been intrigued by the blending of both traditional and modern Korean elements. The song’s foundation is built around traditional Korean instruments that is juxtaposed with heavy use of brass instruments (saxophone, trumpet, etc.).
Love Yourself: Answer made headlines after ranking as the #1 top-selling album in South Korea’s history with a total of 1.45 million copies sold prior to the record’s official release. To put this in perspective, Love Yourself: Tear, the second installment in the Love Yourself trilogy, racked up 1.6 million copies within two weeks after its release, earning its title as South Korea’s highest-selling album in over 15 years.
BTS will have their comeback on the 24th, and will kick off the first leg of their sold out Love Yourself world tour at Seoul’s Jamsil Stadium on the 25th and 26th where they will perform songs from the new album for the first time.
