Psy and Super Junior to Perform at 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards

2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2012 MAMA) will see Psy and Super Junior performing in Hong Kong on November 30.

2012 MAMA confirmed the information through their official press releases stating, “Psy and Super Junior will be appearing in the live broadcast of MAMA, which will take place on November 30 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.”

Psy has created massive waves around the world with Gangnam Style. He has been the first K-pop artist to reach number 1 in various charts around the world including the UK. Currently he is setting his sights on the US Billboard charts.

Super Junior are current top of the Korean charts with their sixth album but also gaining much popularity in the US, Australia and Asia with their music videos.

In a recent interview with enews, director Han Dong Chul who is in charge of 2012 MAMA said, “Psy and Super Junior have been gathering interest around the world, and because there were so many inquiries on whether the two teams would be appearing in MAMA from Hong Kong and neighboring Asian countries, we decided to announce their participation early on. The two teams have all delivered their best performances at Mnet′s year-end ceremonies, and so this year for 2012 MAMA they′re again preparing upgraded performances fit for the global stage. You can look forward to it.”

Also adding, “More global stars other than these teams have been confirming their appearances. We′ll continue to announce [who will be appearing].”

2012 MAMA nominees will be revealed through Mnet′s Wide Entertainment News on October 23. Last year’s MAMA’s were held in Singapore.
