Exciting news for Girls Generation fans, KTmusic.co.kr held a recent poll online and voted Girls Generation as fifth for the best singers in Korea in the past 20 years.
The poll on the site took place between October 1st and ran till the end of the month attracting 300 people in their 20s to 60s to vote for their best singers.
Among the artists that were being voted for were Korean singing legends such as Cho Yongpil, Lee Seungchul, Seo Taiji, Kim Gunmo, and Boohwal. Surprising to most people that a group that is so young and only arriving on the music scene just over four years ago is in the same rankings as artists that were popular in the 90s.
Girls Generation are recognised for their talent and their songs. Their massive hit “Gee” was chosen as the 10th best song in the past 20 years. The poll was only a sample size of their true fan base but is a tribute to their world wide popularity as a group. There is definitely something special about those 9 girls.
