Could PSY bring Gangnam Style to the UK?

His official Gangnam Style music video on YouTube has accumulated over 227m views making it one of the most viewed video ever created.

PSY was interviewed this week on Radio 1′s Scott Mills show.

“People don’t recognise me without my sunglasses yet,” he laughed. “I can’t take off the sunglasses all day long.”

When asked about the famous horse riding dance he said, “When you dance you’ve got to think you’re riding an invisible horse in your lower body.

“This is the point of the Gangnam Style – dress classy and dance cheesy.”

He’s already managed to climb the UK chart entering at 61 and reaching 16 in the UK’s official midweek chart update (19 September).

To make the success of the song even greater he’s been nominated for best video at the MTV Europe music awards.

What does he hope he can achieve in the UK?

“If I have number one in UK – I promise I’ll be there as soon as I can,” he said. “I’ll bring Gangnam Style.”
